Construction Update #1

It’s been a busy couple months since we last checked in, so we wanted to give you all a progress report on the construction of Basecamp. We are happy to say that everything is well underway and we have already hit some important milestones. For those of you who have been keeping up with us through our social media, you will see that the gym’s main floors have been poured and the construction of the mezzanine is moving along nicely. The mezzanine will temporarily house our training area but is intended to be the site of our future expansion plans. Our dedicated followers will also know we have done some redecorating in the form of purple insulation, followed by the ever-important fireproofing cement. It’s absolute chaos right now, but hey, sometimes you have to make a mess in order to clean one up! One of the most exciting milestones we have hit is the arrival of the Walltopia crew on site! They’ve been working on site just over a week and already it’s starting to look like a climbing gym! We couldn’t be happier to have this hardworking team with us at Basecamp and we know for sure that the walls are in good hands. Speaking of good hands, we were absolutely inundated with outstanding applications and we’re thrilled to announce that we have selected a fabulous team. We definitely can’t wait for you to meet them! All of this good news, leads us to an even better announcement: our tentative opening date! We are optimistically hoping for a mid-November opening, but will do our best to ensure that our founding members and avid followers will get every opportunity possible for sneak peaks and early entry. Until we can pin down a specific date, we continue to thank you for your patience and understanding as we go through this process. For now keep your eyes glued to our social media pages, and if you haven’t already be sure to sign up for our newsletter to get all the progress updates and juicy special offers. Up, up and away! Basecamp Is Under Construction

If you look closely you can see the massive steel beams in the backround of this photo, secured to the inside of the building to help support its deteriorating facade. It’s thanks to the help of our amazing Kickstarters that we were able to follow through with this crucial infrastructural update. Now…onwards and upwards!
