About Basecamp
Taking over the Metro Theatre; a Toronto landmark that is best known for showing adult films from 1976 to 2013, Basecamp Climbing is proud to be able to continue Toronto’s rich history as we reinvent the theatre into a place that caters to families, children and to keeping people both happy and healthy.
Basecamp Climbing is Toronto’s most central rock-climbing gym, located directly across from Christie subway station. With over 7,000 square feet of climbing surface and 58 routes, Basecamp is truly a gym for climbers of all skill levels.
Featuring, slab, flat wall climbs, overhang climbing, a large prow for tough lead climbs and walls that are nearly 40 feet tall, we are proud to say that Basecamp is the tallest and most accessible gym in the city.
